How to Get a Digital Meter From Fluvius (Flanders)

A fair contract comparison based on your own quarter-hourly usage only works with a digital meter โ€” an older analog meter doesn't register your usage per quarter-hour, only a total. If you don't have a digital meter yet, that's the first step.

Check whether you already have a digital meter via mijn.fluvius.be

Log in at mijn.fluvius.be with itsme or your eID โ€” your customer profile shows, per connection (electricity and gas separately), the meter type. If "digital meter" shows up for your electricity connection, you can download your quarter-hourly usage file right away. If "analog meter" or "budget meter" shows up, that meter doesn't register quarter-hourly values and requesting a new one is the first step.

How to request a digital meter from Fluvius

Fluvius is the grid operator that installs the digital meter โ€” you request it directly from them, not from your energy supplier. The request itself goes through Mijn Fluvius or by phone, and installation happens via a technician visit. Costs, wait times, and the exact procedure can change โ€” always check mijn.fluvius.be or Fluvius customer service for the current situation; we deliberately don't calculate that ourselves here.

This tool currently works for Fluvius customers (Flanders). Our calculations run on the public V-test data from VREG, the Flemish energy regulator. Wallonia (CWaPE) and Brussels (BRUGEL) run their own regulators and data โ€” we don't pull from those yet.

Solar panels and old reversing meters

Do you have solar panels and still an older, analog (reversing) meter? A digital meter then changes more than just quarter-hourly registration โ€” see the dedicated page on this for what that concretely means for how your feed-in gets accounted for.
