How much could you actually save?
A comparison based on average yearly usage doesn't account for exactly when you use electricity, whether you have solar panels, or how your usage splits between day and night. Two households with the same yearly total can pay a completely different amount at the same supplier.
Does switching cost anything?
No: switching energy supplier in Belgium is free, with no cancellation fee and no interruption to your supply — your new supplier handles the paperwork with your old one. This is confirmed directly by CREG, the federal regulator, in its own list of common misconceptions about switching.
How the switch works, and how long it takes
Expect roughly a one-month notice period before the new contract takes effect. During that time you stay supplied as normal — there's never a supply interruption while switching suppliers.
Where the tariffs come from
We use the public V-test data from VREG, the Flemish energy regulator, which publishes every supplier's products monthly — fixed, variable, and dynamic contracts, each with their exact price components. No prices estimated by us.
Deciding for yourself
We don't name a "best" supplier ourselves — showing the numbers side by side is the starting point, the choice stays yours. That way you see immediately whether switching makes sense for your situation, and for how much.
